Tom Davies
Hello!  I have been a teacher at the ALC for nearly 14 years.  Prior to that I taught at St. Paul Open School for several years.  I currently teach U.S. History and Human Geography.  I have a BA degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a double major in History and Italian.  I received my teaching certification from Hunter College at The City University of New York.  My student teaching was done in Manhattan.

Our theme for this quarter is the United Nations. Below, please see a number of research web sites.

Research Centers

American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research

On the AEI website, research areas are organized under three main divisions: Economic Policy Studies; Foreign and Defense Policy Studies; and Political and Social Studies. Within a topic--such as health policy--articles are sorted chronologically, which can make finding a specific issue difficult. However the website does provide a plethora of information for users with a larger search topic (such as environmental policy or Africa.) Of particular interest are resident scholar Joshua Muravchik and research fellow Vance Serchuk who write on the UN. Their work can be found in the scholars and fellows section. Muravchik's most recent book, The Future of the United Nations, was released in 2005.
